While the game certainly doesn't look realistic at all, that also isn't the games objective at all.
It's low-poly graphics do a great job in making the game feel relaxing!
The characters look lovely and so do the animals and the the world as such!

While the game and it's gameplay certainly are fun there isn't really all too much gameplay.
While you walk around, exploring the island, you take pictures of animals (mostly birds), pick up trash, repair all kind of things and talk to people.
The gameplay is certainly nothing special, but it doesn't need to be for the game to be fun!

The music is lovely and the animals sound very realistic.
With the help of your Wildlife Guide, a small notebook containing a picture, a sound sample and the area in which you can find it,
you should easily be able to identify different types of birds by their sound and snap a quick photo of them!

There isnt really a difficulty in this game. The game is all about relaxation and coziness. You can play the game at your own pace. You can't lose. You will win!
The only difficulty you might find is taking pictures of flying birds or finding a specific animal, though if you can't find an animal in it's region, you might just have to advance the story a little bit!
☑ Nothing to grind
☐ Only if u care about leaderboards/ranks
☐ Isn't necessary to progress
☐ Average grind level
☐ Too much grind
☐ You'll need a second life for grinding
As said on the Difficulty tab the only grind is taking photos of every animal on the island. Which you can totally do at your own pace!

The story itself isn't very unique, but it's still a good story which has been told in a lovely way.
Read the spoiler for a short summary of the story. (Or don't and instead play the game yourself!) The summary doesn't spoil everything and leaves some nice plot twists open!
You visit your grandparents on their spanish home island at summer time, hoping to have tons of fun exploring nature with your very best friend Inés, when you realize that the mayor plans to build a huge luxury hotel right in the islands nature reserve, which has been hit by a fire some time ago and hasn't been restored yet!
The reason behind the plans of mayor Toni and businessman Paco is of course... Money! Loads of it! They plan to turn the island into a tourism hotspot! For money!!!
You and your friend Inés obviously don't like that, so you start collecting signatures for a petition to stop the hotel, while restoring the nature reserve to its former glory and bringing back all those bird lovers!

☐ To infinity and beyond
You, as Alba, are staying at your grandparents place for only a single week! While the general game time will be heavily influenced by your own pace in which you go through the game, the game is still relatively short.
My 100% playthrough took me 5 hours while, according to How Long To Beat the main story is only about 2.5 hours and a completionist run could be anywhere between 3 to 7 hours.
☐ It's free!
☐ Worth the price
☑ If it's on sale
☐ If u have some spare money left
☐ Not recommended
☐ You could also just burn your money
While I received the game as a part of a Humble Bundle a few years ago, the games off-sale price on Steam of 16.99€ does feel a little expensive at times.
While the game is definitely a lot of fun, it is still relatively short and I personally don't see myself playing it a second time, though I'd really like something like a dlc or a sequel!
At the time of writing this review, the game is currently at a 75% discount (yay, summer sale!) and costs only 4.24€ which is more than just a steal!
☑ Never heard of
☐ Minor bugs
☐ Can get annoying
☐ ARK: Survival Evolved
☐ The game itself is a big terrarium for bugs
I don't recall having seen a single bug in my 100% playthrough! And trust me.. I'd be the first to complain if I would've found any.

The game gets a really good 8/10 (close to a 9) from me. It's been a lot of fun playing Alba: A Wildlife Adventure, but while the characters and the world as such are really great, the game is still pretty short and the gameplay kind of limited.
I was very sad when I finished it!
