This review is purely based on my experience of this game. I tried my best not to let other games affect my view of this game too much and rate everything on an for this game appropriate scale! This review does contain spoilers, some of which may not be marked as such!

I know, I know.. I said I'm doin my best to not compare games to other games too much on my reviews. Or let other games influence my opinion of the game I'm reviewing too much. BUT!
The game that is influencing my opinion of The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 is.. **drum rolls intensify** The Book of Unwritten Tales 1.
And honestly.. I think that's okay. Because you know? It's always good if a sequel is better than a prequel. It's usually bad (not always) if a sequel is worse.
And if you think I'm saying that The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 is worse than 1.. Welp then I'd say you're wrong!
But I gotta be honest, I do prefer the first game over the second looks wise. Not to say that the second game looks bad, it just really means that I can't give the second game a better rating for it's graphics.
And it's not like it needs that because even then it's still looking good. The graphics have been updated, and honestly, they probably needed that, considering you can really see the first game getting old nowadays.
But not gonna lie, I sometimes do feel like the characters look weird in tbout2. Weird but not bad though! It's just a jump when going from the first straight to the second game.
The game as such is still lookin good as always of course!

Do I have to repeat what I said about the first game? Yes? Alright, no problem..
The game has everything a good Point&Click needs! Just like the first game.. Lots of pointing and lots of clicking!
Lots of puzzles, lots of nice characters, great voice acting AND the good old "eastereggs around every corner".
It got pretty much everything I loved about the first game.

Both the german and english voice actors are great! The music is lovely, even makes me turn off my music on stream so that we can instead listen to the games music. (Yes, I just copied it from the first games review :P)

The game has a few more "serious" topics than the first game I'd say? Like relationships, parenthood or something like that?
If you want to learn where kids come from.. You might not necessarily want to play this game
Well either way. The game is pretty much fine for anyone I'd say. If you liked the first game you will most certainly like this one too.
If you like Point&Click you will most certainly like this one. I'd say it's not really about age when it comes to these kinda games!

It's just a slight upgrade to what the first game needed and seriously.. Trust me when I say, it's still a joke.

Well yea once again. It's a typical Point&Click. There is not much you can do wrong, there is not much you can miss.
Every now and then you'll have to combine some items or click specific dialogue options but that's it really.
Sure if you're really bad at riddles, puzzles and what not then you might consider it a hard game, otherwise it really isn't.
☑ Nothing to grind

Once again it's the same as in the previous game. It's very linear, there isn't much that can go wrong, there is no grind.
Just go and enjoy the story and the jokes!

I'm kinda wondering why I even made a new review for this game when I could probably just have used the tbout1 review instead. It fits so well for both games, seriously.
Well except for the story spoilers of course. Once again the game got a great story and nice eastereggs hidden all over the place, just like in the first game.
If you liked the first game you will most definitely like this one too!
In the book of unwritten tales 2 you once again mostly play 3 different characters, Ivo, Wilbur and Nate.
Same characters as in the first game as the story pretty much continues some time after Nate and Wilbur left the elven kingdom some time after they saved the world in the first game.
Ivo seems to be "sick" though and no one knows what it might be. Except maybe her dad, who is the King of the elven kingdom and big time connected to nature and therefore of course knows whats going on with his daughters body!
And of course a book on medicine which makes Ivo make a very effective potion which will hopefully help her figure out what her problem might be!
That's how the second game begins right before you go off to once again save the world from EVIL! No more spoilers past this point though!
☐ Long enough for a cup of coffee
☐ Short
☑ Average
☐ Long
☐ To infinity and beyond
My latest 100% playthrough took me about 22 hours on stream while, according to How Long To Beat the "main story" is about 20 hours and a completionist run could be anywhere between 16.5 to 34.5 hours.
☐ It's free!
☑ Worth the price
☐ If it's on sale
☐ If u have some spare money left
☐ Not recommended
☐ You could also just burn your money
The normal price on Steam is a whopping 29.99€. For me the game is worth the price, even if its 10€ more than the first, but if you are not sure if you like Point&Click games, you might want to catch it on a sale.
☐ Never heard of
☑ Minor bugs
☐ Can get annoying
☐ ARK: Survival Evolved
☐ The game itself is a big terrarium for bugs
There are a few bugs in the book of unwritten tales 2 but they're not too bad.

I'm giving this game a 8/10. I really, really like this game but it does have some things that did annoy me just enough to make me not want to give it a 9/10.
It's still a really nice game and I'd always recommended it to everyone who likes Point&Click or wants to get into it, after playing the first game of course.
